This tutorial is a reference guide to using tags within your email marketing newsletters.
As well as providing the reference guide, refer to this tutorial for where to setup your Tell-a-friend forms and where to insert tags into your email content.
Inserting Tags
To insert tags into your email newsletter you'll need to open a newsletter within your Online Business (Marketing->Campaigns) and go to Step 5 of the wizard Provide Campaign Content where you'll see the content editor. Click on the Tag-Insert drop-down box and you'll see the list of possible email campaign tags that you can use. You cannot use tags from other system email types. Choosing one of these tags will insert it into your text, alternatively you can type out the tag yourself in the editor.
Email Campaign Tags
The table below details all the different tags that you can insert into your email campaigns and what they do:
| {tag_anniversarytitle} | Title of anniversary date relevant to the recipient receiving the email (use with anniversary 1-5 campaigns only) |
| {tag_recipientemail} | Email address of the recipient |
| {tag_recipientfirstname} | First name of the recipient - if this is empty in the customer record of the email recipient then it will be replaced by 'Friend' |
